ABOUT US

Conservation

Since 1922, the Izaak Walton League of America (IWLA) has been restoring wetlands and streams, establishing wildlife refuges and parks, fighting for cleaner air and healthier forests, teaching outdoor ethics and promoting outdoor recreation.  Nearly every major conservation victory in America bears our fingerprint.

Community

Our work is guided entirely by grassroots volunteers. Members set policy through a democratic process that raises local issues to the state and national levels.

Common Sense

We don't take a 'doom-and-gloom' approach to conservation. Instead, we look for practical solutions that benefit everyone.

Benefits of Membership

Many people sit in front of their TV and gripe about the environmental issues that seem to be aired with increasing frequency. Don't  just sit there and wait for someone else to do something positive. You personally can play an active role in one of the oldest and largest environmental groups on the planet. You won't have to blindly follow the ideas and policies of a few unseen organizational leaders, because Izaak Walton League of America (IWLA) actively encourages member participation at grassroots level. By attending monthly meetings you will have an opportunity to play an active role in the future wellbeing of your local community, and in ensuring that your local environment is a pleasant place to live for future generations. IWLA is taken seriously by local, state, and federal administrators; consequently, IWLA members have a very good chance of seeing their ideas come to fruition; both locally, and nationally.

IWLA needs your commitment, enthusiasm, and ideas.

Join - meet - discuss your ideas - vote - take action and achieve visible results in your community !
